Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts

Kansas City, Missouri

Whitley's Scope

Custom acoustic wall systems for one of Kansas City's most distinctive interiors.

Whitley Construction was proud to contribute to the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts during its original construction. Our work included acoustic slat walls in Helzberg Hall and fixed wood acoustic wall panels in the Muriel Kauffman Theatre.

Each slat wall was custom made to fit the space. Precise field measurements were taken after openings were built to help ensure the finished slat systems aligned accurately with the surrounding architecture.

The project combined complex geometry, acoustical requirements and highly visible architectural finishes. We’re proud to have been part of a project so important to the Kansas City cultural community and such an iconic part of the Kansas City skyline.
